4B - Robles, Lisa

Meet the TeacherTeacher

Thank you for visiting our classroom's webpage!  Please let me introduce myself!  My name is Lisa Robles and I teach reading, writing, and social studies.  I was born and raised in the beautiful state of Maine (hence my infatuation with moose).  I earned my teaching degree at the University of Maine at Presque Isle and played on the women's basketball team for all four years.   I have lived in the vibrant city of El Paso for approximately six years.  For twelve years, I have been on an amazing and fun-filled teaching adventure, teaching second and fourth grade.

I am a firm believer that a child needs to be inspired to develop a desire to learn.  Excitement can be contagious!  They need an opportunity to develop confidence in their abilities and to participate in a non-threatening environment where they are willing to take chances and learn from each other.  My classroom encourages creativity and cooperative learning.  As human beings, no matter what the age, we are always learning from each other!  Right from day one, students understand that it is okay to make mistakes.  This is how we learn.  The one thing that I always ask from students is that they try their very BEST at all times!

I have a passion to read and write, which I hope to pass along to each of my students.  I really enjoy the challenge of leading students to discover a book that will hook them to reading!  The love to read always starts with one book!  My classroom library expands every year and offers a variety of books for your child to read.  They will be allowed to check out these books throughout the school year.

I am looking forward to working with you and your child.  Like the famous proverb states:  "It does take a village to raise a child."  My door is always open and you are always welcome to come in to visit or volunteer.

My conference time is from 8:15-9:00.
