4C - Chavira, Valerie

Welcome to 4th. Grade Mathematics and Science!

MathematicsHello! My name is Ms. Valerie Chavira, and I teach fourth grade math and science.  This is my fifth year teaching, and my fourth year at Crosby Elementary.  I was born and raised in El Paso, TX, and I graduated from UTEP with a Bachelor's degree in Education grades (4-8) in 2009.

Education is my passion, and I truly believe every child deserves the chance to attend college and make their dreams come true.  Most importantly, education is achieved, not received.  Students need a strong support system in the classroom and at home in order to be highly successful.   This is why I thank you parents for all of your help and support because it does not go unnoticed!  It is highly appreciated at all times.

Math and science are my favorite subjects, and it is always a blessing to teach them and pass down many innovative ideas to my students.  Most importantly, students will be engaged and actively learning how to be future scientists and mathematicians.  Mathematics is used every day, even without realizing it, and this truly becomes an eye opener for all students once they explore all the numerous math patterns around them.  Science also plays a major role in their lives, and many of their experiences and/or experiments have explained the world around them.  All subjects are equally important in a child's life, and this is what truly makes a student highly successful and actively engaged in their education.

I am looking forward to working with you and your child.  Thank you for being part of your child's education!  Your hard work does not go unnoticed.  If you need to reach me, my conference time is from: 8:15 AM - 9:00 AM.
