Roman, Patsy

Hello and welcome to 1st Grade! My name is Patsy Roman and I teach first grade alongside my awesome first grade team. First grade is such a crucial year in a child's academic life and I am always eager and excited to share my knowledge with my students and engage them in active learning. It's exciting to watch our student’s blossom into little readers and discover new adventures!

I attended El Paso Community College and earned my Associate Degree in the Arts of Teaching. I went on the further my education at the University of Texas at El Paso. I graduated in the winter of 2010 with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies and a Minor in Education. Go Miners!!! During my undergraduate studies I was an active substitute and frequently subbed at Crosby Elementary. I knew Crosby was where I wanted to teach once I completed my schooling and certification and when I got the call for interview I knew I was destined to be a Crosby Cougar! I have been teaching at Crosby for four years now and in those four years I have thought four grade levels, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 5th grade, and Kindergarten! Though challenging at times, I have learned so much from experiencing new grade levels and it has made me a well rounded educator.

I still have so much to learn and I love learning so much that I decided in 2012 to go back to UTEP to take on a Masters Degree in School Counseling. I am currently enrolled and I am in my 1st semester of Internship, happily working with our very own campus counselor, Ms. Henry! I am set to graduate with my Masters degree this summer and I am optimistic about my future in the school counselor role!

My door is always open, so please feel free to drop by if you have anyway questions or concerns. My daily prep time is from 9:55-10:40.
