Crosby Takes the Ice Bucket Challenge

08.27.14 ~  On August 22, 2014, the Crosby Cougars took the Ice Bucket Challenge to bring attention to the debilitating disease ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. The Cougars raised over $500.00 for ALS research, and challenged Irvin High School and all schools withing the Irvin feeder pattern. A big thank you to all who participated and/or donated, and cheers to Coach Michaels for organizing the ALS Bucket Challenge. GO COUGARS!..

Free Parenting Classes

Crosby will be offering free parenting classes once a week on Mondays. Classes will be from 8:30-9:30 a.m. This will be a five week session. We hope you can attend these sessions. For more information, please contact Mrs. Garcia at (915) 236-5450.

Class topics include:
Understanding yourself and your child,
Understanding beliefs and feelings,
Encouraging yourself and your child,
Listening and communicating with your child,
Helping them cope and cooperate,
Discipline versus punishment, and
Choosing your approach.

Bilingual Parent Informational Meetings April 28 & 29

EPISD's Department of English Language Acquisition invites you to attend one of the following Bilingual Parent Informational Meetings.

You will learn about the Bilingual programs in EPISD, services provided to students in the Bilingual programs, and activities for parents on how to best assist their children in their academic pursuits. Participants will receive materials to help support their children! Refreshment will be served. For information, please call 230-3040.

Laughter really is the best medicine during stress filled days

04.03.14 ~  State mandated tests can be overwhelming and stressful for both students and teachers ~ The seriousness of the STAAR tests affects both the students and the staff and faculty. Administrators are required to follow very specific rules and guidelines that students must adhere to. School Principal Sandra Sanchez and Counselor Lourdes Henry take a moment to lighten the mood by displaying their "picket signs," giving everyone a very appreciated moment of humor. Testing will continue the week of April 21-24...

Carolyn Back honored as Support Person of the Year Luncheon

EPISD held a luncheon to honor employees selected as Support Person of the Year at each campus

Crosby staff & faculty are very proud to award Paraprofessional Carolyn Back with the annual Support person of the year honor. Ms. Back works with Ms Rachel Frausto in our AIM classes.

EPISD held a special luncheon for all hourly support personnel who were selected by their peers and administrators at each campus. Be sure to congratulate Ms Back the next time you see her smiling face on campus!

Valentine Candy Gram Fundraiser proves to be a huge success

Crosby Librarian is thrilled at the response to the Librarys Valentine Fundraiser

Librarian Rosa Quintela spearheaded the Valentine candy gram fundraiser and sold more than 600 to students, staff, faculty and parents.

Volunteers, Jessica Rojas and Danny Martinez, along with several others, spent many hours and days, cutting, gluing and assembling paper butterflies and hearts to be sold as candy grams on February 14th.
Students, parents, staff and faculty enthusiastically purchased more than 600 of the blow pop butterflies and hearts to be delivered to their favorite Valentines. The success of this fundraiser overwhelming exceeded expectations and earned much needed funds for library materials.

Box Tops contest continues until December 13th

The Crosby Library is still collecting "Box Tops". The class competitions and student challenge continue until December 13th. Please keep collecting your "Box Tops" and turn them in to the Library to win prizes. Thank you for your support!

Prizes will be awarded!
The student with the most Box Tops will win their choice of the displayed artwork, either Minions or Hello Kitty. The student with the second most Box Tops will have the other piece of art.
The class that collects the most Box Tops can win a pizza party!

Price's Give 'Em Five Program

Please send in your Price's milkcaps with your child. Each class is collecting the milkcaps. Each month, the class with the most milkcaps collected can win themselves a popcorn party!

Give ‘Em Five is Price’s Creameries largest community outreach effort. The program is designed to provide a source of additional funding to assist community organizations and schools in planning, developing and implementing innovative programs and creative opportunities which result in increased student achievement.
